What is the ASA score for anesthesia?

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Physical Status Classification is a system used by anesthesiologists to assess a patient's health before surgery. It ranges from I (normal healthy patient) to VI (a declared brain-dead patient whose organs are being removed for donor purposes). The classification is not a prediction of the outcome of surgery on its own, but when used with other factors, it can help in predicting perioperative risks.
