Warfarin Bleeding Risk - Elderly Calculator

Warfarin Bleeding Risk - Elderly Calculator

The Warfarin Bleeding Risk - Elderly Calculator estimates the 90-day risk of bleeding in patients over 65 years old who are on warfarin.  The score ranges from 0 to 5, with higher scores indicating a higher risk of bleeding .

The interpretation of the score is as follows:

*Score of 0-2: Low risk of bleeding
*Score of 3-4: Moderate risk of bleeding
*Score of 5 or higher: High risk of bleeding

It is important to note that this bleeding risk score was developed to guide the clinical use of warfarin in the elderly with atrial fibrillation, and major bleeding was defined as hospital admission for either a gastrointestinal hemorrhage or intracranial bleeding.
